The Living Landscape Project, Clanwilliam, SA

1995-2002

A project with  the Archaeology Department of the University of Cape Town, comprises an archaeological archive and series of information pavilions that are to be located at important rock painting and ecological sites around the town of Clanwilliam. The early stages of this long-term project have involved the development of a local project organisation, the production of an education curriculum utilising the surrounding landscape, and an annual series of heritage events including exhibitions. Architectural projects include the renovation of an old school into a field station for UCT in Clanwilliam and the design and erection of a dismountable shelter for visitor field trips to the rock painting sites.
